Session 1 of Money Smart for Older Adults

This session covers helpful information about frauds and scams, including the growing threat of romance scams and employment scams. Information and tips are provided to help you recognize frauds and scams and how to protect yourself.  This session also discusses the role of technology in scams and how technology training can be beneficial.

Money Smart for Older Adults is a comprehensive financial readiness course for older adults and their family members; it covers many aspects of a person’s financial matters including retirement planning, credit and debt, insurance, estate planning and financial management for caregivers. The most important topic is prevention and protection from financial fraud, abuse and exploitation. Other topics include today’s technology and power of attorney.
